At approaching 90 percent efficiency from 50 percent load, upwards, across all load types, there is no other word for the Revolution 85+ other than phenomenal. It certainly sets the standard. With a 20 percent load of over 85 percent as well, it has the highest overall average efficiency set we've seen to date.

The PFC is consistently high, the voltages are green and solid across the board with little deviation from their intended values - basically, it's very hard to find fault.

Our only slight concern is with the fan. Compared to other premium solutions, especially compared to the Seasonic M12D and the Antec Signature, our model was slightly unbalanced. However, to our surprise, instead of irritation it caused lovely deep "whoop whoop" sound instead.

One notable fact about that fan is that, to its benefit, it's never worked that hard. Enermax has one of the quietest high wattage PSUs we've ever heard (or haven't). While the Seasonic cranks up its Sayno Denki regardless of internal temperature, the Enermax demonstrates more aural finesse.

Complementing this lack of sonic sensation, inside we found the Revolution was a cooling running 30 to 40ºC with a maximum of 42ºC right at the back. It easily survived the 30 minute full load stress test, telling us that this is an extremely capable device.
